Good day fellow fisherman,
The almost non-existent, winter temperatures have created an early summer for us here in south Florida, which means, the fishing can be really good .
So, for you “snowbird “ fisherman that go back north in April / May, I encourage you to stay just a little bit longer to enjoy our extraordinary fishing, at times.
Albies are the star until the tarpon show up . The species with a * are possible on fly.
May is generally a good month to fish our area . We have caught all the following fish in the last two weeks:
*Big kingfish, giant bull and sandbar sharks, and huge goliath grouper. Also included in the list are large *cravelle jack, snapper, *dolphin, *sailfish, *cobia, *bluefish, and as always, a surprise guest species such as a blue marlin.
*Pompano, *mackerel, *bluefish, *ladyfish ,and bonefish are some of the near shore species .
This time of year we do fish in the estuaries, seawalls, bridges , and nightlights where some of the catches include, *snook, *jack, flounder ,and there are still a few *blues left.
God Bless ,
