Jeff and Jay with a jack caught on top water plug
So far March has started out rather windy, with some turbulent seas. That's ok, we always have a Plan B ready to engage. Which means fishing inside the inlet around seawalls, grass flats, or mangrove estuaries.
Equipped with ultra light spinners, using top water plugs, Jeff and Jay of the midwest caught some hard fighting jack.
Most of the fish were good sized with one jumbo that took the younger Jay about 15 minutes to land.
Top water bait, is one of my favorite fishing methods, although the action can be slow to boring at times, a fish will chase your bait with heart stopping, explosive splashes, sometimes following the bait all the way to the boat.
Wow, it can be exciting!
Good luck and God bless,
